Villa Katina Orange Muscat 2025
About the wine
Orange Muscat Ottonel
Orange wine is a category that asks something of you. It invites you to understand why it exists, how it was made, and to bring a little more patience, a desire for depth, and perhaps a few other precious qualities.
Over the years, we have made orange wines not in response to growing trends or market demand, but driven by our curiosity to explore, discover the unconventional, and better understand our own path. So far, we have worked with the following varieties:
Chardonnay – because we love working with aromatically neutral white grapes, allowing our approach to shine through without the mask of dominant varietal aromas.
Muscat Ottonel – because of its captivating diversity of expression and because it perfectly aligns with our philosophy of orange wines.
With the 2025 vintage, we are once again introducing our interpretation of Orange Muscat Barrique. This single-varietal wine from the village of Lesichovo underwent spontaneous fermentation with indigenous wild yeasts, followed by 35 days of skin maceration. The free-run juice was then divided into two directions: one remained without any contact with wood, while the other was aged for four months in Bulgarian acacia barrels. After maturation, the two were blended, rested for one month, and then bottled.
Orange Muscat 2025 is complex, revealing notes of apricot, yellow flowers, and quince. It is structured, with a distinctive yet refined, long-lasting palate. Juicy, vibrant, and wonderfully expressive when served between 12–14°C.
A natural wine made without stabilizers, added sulphites, or allergens.
